Koleduvane is a ritual carried out on Christmas Eve, a day of much celebration, in which a group of youngsters visit homes and sing traditional songs, in exchange for coins and food. The Bulgarian Christmas Eve meal is a veritable feast, with seven or nine different dishes, including a pitta bread with a coin in it, which traditionally brings luck to the recipient.
